Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Q. Can Plum Tree Studios arrange the plumbing and power etc?
A. Yes. We can quote for your fully complete studio, including piles (Greengage and Cherry), electrical wiring and plumbing, transport and council consents, if appropriate.
Q. What are the compliance costs? Building permits?
A. All studios are issued with the South Wairarapa District Council’s Code of Compliance (NZ3604) before leaving Marty’s construction site. If required, all necessary regional building and resource consents can be arranged by Marty or you may want to arrange these yourself. We’ll advise any terms and conditions with your quote.
Q. What do I need to do at my end?
A. You’ll need to contact trades people to install piles, electricity and plumbing, if needed. We can organise this for you, if you prefer.
Q. What other costs are there?
A. You’ll need to arrange insurance for your studio when you transport it and, of course, other insurance once it’s on site.
Q. How do you get the studio to our site?
A. The studios are no wider than 3.7 metres, which mean they fit onto standard transport. We can quote on transport too.
Q. What does ex yard mean?
A. Ex yard means from our place, ie, all finished at our end to your specifications and ready to transport.
Q. How long do they take to build?
A. The Cherry and Greengage take four weeks to build, the others take a little longer. Allow eight weeks for the Satsuma, ten weeks for the Damson and 12 weeks for the Omega.
Q. I’d like to make changes to the finishings of the studio, is that possible?
A. Yes. We understand that our customers do not all want the same features. You can mix and match our standard features and add some of your own. We’ll discuss the nature and costs of alternatives with you.
