Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Why should I choose Plum Tree Studios?
We offer beautiful and flexible designs that can be customised to meet your needs, and you’ll be dealing directly with owner-operators Marty and Cathryn. Our studios bring superb craftmanship, quality materials and competitive pricing to creating your dream space.
Can Plum Tree Studios arrange the plumbing and power etc?
Yes. We can quote for your fully complete studio, including piles (Greengage and Cherry), electrical wiring and plumbing, transport and council consents, if appropriate.
What are the compliance costs? Building permits?
All studios are issued with the South Wairarapa District Council’s Code of Compliance (where required) before leaving Marty’s construction site. If required, all necessary regional building and resource consents can be arranged by Marty or you may want to arrange these yourself.
What do I need to do at my end?
You’ll need to contact trades people to install piles, electricity and plumbing, if needed. We can organise this for you, if you prefer.
How do you get the studio to our site?
We arrange transport of your studio for you with our preferred movers.
What does ‘ex-yard’ mean?
Ex-yard means from our place, ie, all finished at our end to your specifications and ready to transport.
How long do they take to build?
The Cherry and Greengage take four weeks to build, the others take a little longer. Allow eight weeks for the Satsuma, ten weeks for the Damson and 12 weeks for the Omega.
I’d like to make changes to the finishings of the studio, is that possible?
Yes. We understand that our customers do not all want the same features. You can mix and match our standard features and add some of your own. We’ll discuss the nature and costs of alternatives with you. You can find out more in Your Design.
